Privacy Policy

NovelVerba is operated by an individual in Vietnam. The person responsible for data processing can be reached at: [email protected].

Account data: your email address and password (stored only as a scrypt hash — it cannot be read back), a display name if you set one, and the interface language you have chosen.

Transaction data: credit balance, top-up and character-consumption history, top-up orders, and bank transfer receipts.

Usage data: cumulative source character counts and translation operations per month — for quotas and statistics; what you read is not stored.

We do NOT collect: bank card data (the service accepts no cards), phone numbers, or personal identifiers, and we do NOT install any behavioral analytics or trackers.

When you upload a novel, the source content is split into chapters and stored temporarily for translation. Source material is deleted automatically at these milestones: chapters that are translated and pass quality checks are deleted as soon as the whole novel is completed; abandoned novels or source files with no translation/editing activity for 30 consecutive days are deleted entirely — including the original EPUB file.

When you delete a novel, that novel's data is deleted immediately. After the source is deleted, translations remain readable and exportable as usual.

Quick translation (translating loose passages without saving a novel) does not store the content you submit: the result is returned and nothing is recorded.

AI model providers: to translate, your chapter content and dictionary data (proper names, address-term pairs, style examples) are sent to the large language model provider the service is configured with — which may include OpenAI, DeepSeek, Google (Gemini), OpenRouter, or Z.ai. We never attach your email or account identifier; data sent to these parties is handled under each party's own privacy policy (see their official websites: openai.com · deepseek.com · gemini.google · openrouter.ai · z.ai).

SePay (bank transfer gateway): receives bank transaction notifications (order code, amount, transfer description) to credit your wallet automatically.

VietQR (vietqr.app): payment QR images are loaded by your browser directly from this service along with the order code and amount — they see only that data, never your account.

Email delivery service (when enabled): receives only the recipient email address, to send verification, password reset, and top-up receipt emails.

The service does NOT use cookies and has NO cookie consent banner — because we have no tracking tools that would need your permission.

Only same-origin storage in your browser is used (localStorage and sessionStorage): your sign-in session, interface language and light/dark mode, current reading position, reader preferences, temporary tab identifiers and one-time notices, and a record of a running translation batch (containing only novel/batch/chapter-position identifiers — no book content). This data lives on your machine and is deleted together with your browser data.

Source content: as in section 3 — automatically deleted at completion milestones or after 30 days of inactivity.

Account data: kept until you request account deletion.

The credit ledger and transaction receipts: retained even after an account is deleted, to meet accounting, audit, and transaction-dispute obligations under the law.

View and change your email, change your password, set a display name — do it yourself in the Profile section.

Delete individual novels at any time; request full account deletion via the contact email (the transaction ledger must be retained as described in section 6).

Complaints about data processing: send them to the contact email — we respond within a reasonable time.

This policy may be updated; a new version is published on this page with its effective date and at least 7 days' prior notice. Your continued use of the service after the effective date means you accept the new version.
